What is WiFi Roaming?

When it comes to large (multi-router) WiFi networks, roaming will be the most important issue. This problem usually happens in large networks that have more than one router.

Roaming happens when a user moves from one router’s coverage area to another router’s coverage area in a WiFi network. When the user leaves the area covered by one router, the WiFi connection is interrupted for a moment, and when he enters the area covered by another router, the WiFi connection is Re-established again by that router.

 

What’s the WiFi Roaming Problem?

What is Mesh network ?

Mesh WiFi network consists of several routers that act as a single network. In this system, one router acts as the main router (Mesh Router) and several routers act as Mesh Points. The main router is connected to the modem (internet) using the network cable. All nodes are connected to each other wirelessly and create several paths (routes) to the Mesh Router.

The mesh system intelligently controls and manages the entire network and communication paths (Routes) between Mesh Points and the Mesh Router. It also chooses the best path (Route) for user communication to the Mesh Router.

How to Setup Mesh Router (Primary WiFi Point)

To install and set up Google WiFi Router , you can use  “Google Home App”, which is designed in such a way that any user with any level of experience and knowledge can fully set up an google router, by a few taps..!

First download this App from Google Play or App Store. and follow the steps below :

1. Choose one of the router’s as the Mesh Router and connect to the modem.

2. Connect the Modem’s Ethernet cable to the Mesh Router’s WAN port.

3. Turn on the Mesh router and wait 90 seconds.the light slightly pulse blue.

4. Execute the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.

5. Tap “add” ->”Set up device” -> ” New device“.

6. The app should find the Mesh Router, Tap yes to continue.

  • If you have multiple devices to setup , choose the Mesh Router (Primary WiFi Point).

7. Scan the QR code on the bottom of your device..

  • Hold your phone about 5 in (12 cm) away to scan.
  • If you’re unable to scan the QR code, tap Continue without scanning, then enter the setup key on the bottom of your device.

8. Select a room for your router or create a new one.

9. Give your WiFi network a name and a secure password.

10. Continue through the app to complete setup.

11. The router should now create your WiFi network. This may take a few minutes.

How to Setup Mesh Point (Additinal WiFi Point)

To Set up Mesh Points by the Google Home App , Follow the instruction below:

1. Execute the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.

2. Tap “add” ->”Set up device” -> ” New device“.

3. The app should find the Mesh point, Tap yes to continue.

  • If you have multiple devices to setup , choose the Mesh Point (Additional WiFi Point).

4. Scan the QR code on the bottom of your device..

  • Hold your phone about 5 in (12 cm) away to scan.
  • If you’re unable to scan the QR code, tap Continue without scanning, then enter the setup key on the bottom of your device.

5. Continue through the app to complete setup.

6. The router should now create your WiFi network. This may take a few minutes.

7. If you’d like to add another point, tap Yes in the app when prompted or repeat these steps at a later time for additional points.
